Your traditional new build home you normally get a token bit of patio and turf. When Pentland homes asked me to design a show home in New Romney I was pleased to offer a design to give structure and colour. Its a little different to design when you don’t see the garden before hand and don’t have the homeowner to talk to get a specification.
This was the 3D concept of the design I created. The garden was designed to invite you into the garden with a seating area at the bottom. The patio area next to the house was enlarged to make it big enough to have a large table and chairs for entertaining. Trees were designed in to give height and interest through the seasons. A gorgeous place for a family to enjoy their outside space.
The first time I saw the garden the hard landscaping had been done and I helped the landscapers set out the planting and get them in the ground. This was in July. In the middle of a drought so not the best time to plant!
I revisited the garden in October and its looking stunning. Come next year it will fill out even more. It feels very established considering it had only been there 4 months. What a lovely oasis for the new owners.
